Privacy policy

Niah handles two very different kinds of information, under two different responsibilities. If you are reading this site, we decide what is collected about you and this policy is the whole answer. If you are a guest at an event that uses Niah, the organizer decides what is collected and we act on their instructions, so their privacy policy governs and this one explains what we do with what they send us.

1. Who we are

Niah is event matchmaking software for event organizers. The service is operated by Connexions Niah Connect Inc., a corporation incorporated on 25 August 2026 under the Canada Business Corporations Act, corporation number 1819284-7, with a registered office in Montréal, Quebec, Canada.

For any question about this policy, or to make any request described in section 7, write to support@niahconnect.com. Our full registered office address is on the public federal register and we will provide it on request. Under Quebec's Law 25 we are required to name the person responsible for the protection of personal information: that is Noam Turecki, President, reachable at the same address.

2. If you are visiting this website

Here, we are the controller. We decide what is collected and why, and you have not agreed to anything by arriving.

Nothing below starts on its own. The first two are held until you allow them, which is what the banner on your first visit is asking. If you have not answered it, or you answered no, neither has run and no request has been made to either company.

Three things can run on this site:

Google Analytics 4 (property G-PXG219VDJH, provided by Google). It records which pages you visit, roughly where you are in the world, what kind of device and browser you use, and which advertisement or link brought you here. It sets identifiers that let Google recognise a returning browser, and Google can combine what it sees here with what it sees on other sites.
Microsoft Clarity (project yaiod0liot, provided by Microsoft). It records how you move through a page: scrolling, clicks, and how long you stay. These recordings can be played back as a session.
A Google appointment booking form, which loads only if you click "Book a demo". Until you click, nothing is requested from Google's booking service. If you do book, the name, email address and anything else you type goes to Google Calendar and to us.

Fonts are served from this site rather than from a font provider, and there is no advertising network, no social media pixel and no chat widget. Those three above are the only third parties involved in loading a page here.

Why we do this. The analytics exist so we can tell which pages explain the product and which ones lose people, and so we can tell whether an advertisement was worth its cost. The booking form exists so you can talk to us.

Changing your mind. Use Privacy choices, in the footer of every page, to be asked again and answer differently. You can also block both tools with a browser that blocks trackers, a content blocker, or Google's own opt-out add-on. None of it changes how this site works for you.

3. If you are a guest at an event that uses Niah

Here, we are not the controller. The organizer running your event decides to use Niah, asks you the questions, and is responsible for telling you that they do. We process what they send us, on their instructions, to produce your introductions. Their privacy policy is the one that governs the collection.

What reaches us about you, all of it from the organizer's registration form:

your name
your phone number, so the introductions can arrive on WhatsApp
your LinkedIn address, if you gave one
what you do professionally, including your industry
what you said you came to the event for
how you prefer to talk to people, and your preferred language
a record that you agreed to receive your matches from Niah

We use it to work out which guests are worth introducing to each other, and to write and send those introductions. We do not sell it, we do not use it to advertise to you, and we do not use it to build a profile of you that outlives the event.

Your introductions are delivered over the WhatsApp Business Platform, which means Meta processes your phone number and the message in order to deliver it, under its own terms. If you would rather not be matched, tell the organizer or write to us and we will remove you.

We use a small number of service providers. They act on our instructions, and none of them are permitted to use what they receive for their own purposes, with the exception noted for Google and Microsoft on the site analytics.

Microsoft, for the session analytics described above.
Meta, for delivering introductions over the WhatsApp Business Platform.
Kapso, which we use in the messaging pipeline that sends those introductions.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond what Google and Microsoft do as part of the analytics described in section 2.

5. Where the information goes

We are based in Canada and our providers operate internationally, so information about you is likely to be stored or handled outside the country you are in, including in the United States. Where information about people in the European Union or the United Kingdom is transferred, we rely on the standard contractual clauses published by the European Commission, which our providers incorporate into their terms.

6. How long we keep it

Website analytics are kept for 14 months, which is the shortest retention Google Analytics 4 allows. Guest matching data is kept for the duration of the event plus a window agreed with the organizer in the contract for that event. Demo booking correspondence is kept for as long as the business relationship lasts.

When the period ends, the information is deleted or anonymised so it can no longer be connected to you.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights. We apply them to everyone rather than checking where you are first.

Ask what we hold about you, and get a copy of it.
Have it corrected if it is wrong.
Have it deleted.
Ask us to stop using it, or to stop a particular use.
Receive it in a portable, machine-readable form.
Withdraw an agreement you previously gave, at any time.
Ask us to explain a decision made about you by automated means. Niah's matching is automated, so if you want to know why you were matched with the people you were matched with, ask and we will tell you.

Write to support@niahconnect.com. We answer within thirty days. If you are an event guest, we may need to pass your request to the organizer, because the information is theirs to release, and we will tell you when we do that.

If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec, to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the data protection authority where you live.

Quebec's Law 25 and the European Union's rules on tracking both require that technology capable of identifying or profiling a person stay switched off until that person turns it on. We took the strict reading of that. Until you allow them, the analytics scripts are never requested at all, so neither Google nor Microsoft learns that you were here. This is stronger than the common approach of loading the scripts in a restricted mode, which still contacts the provider.

Declining is a single click and sits alongside allowing, not behind an extra step. Your answer is stored in your own browser and nowhere else. You can change it at any time through Privacy choices in the footer, and you can ask us to delete whatever was collected while consent was on by writing to support@niahconnect.com.

The demo booking form is different. It loads only when you click "Book a demo", so clicking it is the agreement.

9. Children

Niah is sold to organizers of professional events and is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how any of this works, we update this page and change the date below. If the change is significant, and we hold a way to reach you, we tell you directly rather than relying on you to check.
